Establishing a Global Repository for Generalizable AI in Healthcare
June 10, 2026
Filed in: VBC Diagnostics Journal
The Clinical Lab 2.0 (CL2.0) Lab-Initiated Care Model represents a transformative initiative designed to establish a global, publicly accessible repository of aggregated, deidentified laboratory data linked to patient outcomes. This model seeks to overcome limitations inherent in single-site datasets, fostering the development of generalizable, predictive artificial intelligence (AI) models that significantly enhance care optimization, diagnostic stewardship, proactive prediction, and population health management. This document outlines detailed steps to establish the necessary governance, technical resources, methodological frameworks, and illustrates synergies with the model’s comprehensive nine-step business canvas (1).
