Dr. Mario Plebani Appointed Global Editor-in-Chief of Project Santa Fe Foundation’s Publication Division

SALT LAKE CITY, July 2026 — Project Santa Fe Foundation (PSFF) announces the appointment of Dr. Mario Plebani as Global Editor-in-Chief of its publication division, which will launch the Value-Based Care and Population Health Diagnostics Journal. This appointment marks a significant milestone in PSFF’s mission to transform laboratory medicine from reactive result-reporting to proactive, predictive population health management.

Dr. Plebani brings unparalleled global stature to this role. He is Honorary Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology at the University of Padova, Italy and holds honorary and adjunct professorships at the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Texas Medical Branch. He previously served as President of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) and Dean of the Medical School at the University of Padova, and he is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM) and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Diagnosis.

With over 1,550 peer-reviewed publications, an h-Index of 132, and recognition including the AACC Award for Outstanding Clinical Laboratory Contributions to Patient Safety, the IFCC Distinguished Award for Laboratory Medicine and Patient Care, and, most recently, the 2025 Roman Lecture Award by the Australasian Association for Laboratory Medicine, Dr. Plebani represents the highest level of global expertise in laboratory medicine.
